SOL GEL PROCESS

Image
I would like to share my learnings on my visit to our physics laboratory located in our college,to study about manufacturing of NANOMATERIALS.                                                   SOL GEL PROCESS SOL GEL PROCESS: In this process the solution made is stirred thoroughly and made to set and subjected to heat to a particular temperature and after that temperature the solution will be in a gel phase and then it is calcinated and heat treated and made to powder form which is a nanoparticle.  The detailed steps observed from the laboratory were as follows: SOLUTION PREPARATION: The solution made for preparation is cobalt – ferrate   For cobalt -----> Nitrate as a key component   For Ferrate----->Iron Nitrate is as a key component   Ratio of cobalt and Ferrate: 1:2 -> cobalt as 25% and Ferrate as 75%...

INTO THE WORLD OF MICROSCOPES                                                        USED FOR RSEARCH                                       NANOMATERIALS SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE(SEM): Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Resolution : Ranges from nanometers to a few micrometers. Function : SEM creates high-resolution images by scanning a sample's surface with a focused electron beam. This interaction generates signals that provide detailed information about the sample's topography, composition, and surface structure. Applications : Widely used in nanomaterial research to analyze surface morphology, particle size, and composition. It’s ideal for...

NATURALLY AVAILABLE NANOMATERIALS

Image
In our day to day life, we come across many things which contains nanomaterials. Here are some of  naturally available nanomaterials, Clay Minerals Use : Found in soil and used in ceramics, cosmetics, and even some medicines. Nanoparticles : Clay contains nanoscale platelets that improve the strength and stability of products. Lotus Leaf (Lotus Effect) Use : Seen in nature as a self-cleaning mechanism. Nanoparticles : The surface of lotus leaves is covered with nanostructures that cause water to bead and roll off, removing dirt particles, a phenomenon known as the "lotus effect." Butterfly Wings Use : Found in nature, showcasing vivid colors. Nanoparticles : The colors in butterfly wings come from nanoscale structures that reflect light, rather than pigments. Spider Silk Use : Spider webs are often encountered in everyday life. Nanoparticles : Spider silk contains nanoscale fibrils that give it incredible strength and flexibility. credits: chatgpt iamges:https://www.shutter...

INTO THE WORLD OF NANOMATERIALS.BASIC

Image
Science : It's all about studying the world around us, asking questions, and finding answers by doing experiments and making observations. Think of it as a way to understand how things work—like why the sky is blue or how plants grow. Technology : This is the use of tools, machines, and systems that make life easier or solve problems. From smartphones to cars, technology is what we create to improve how we live. Engineering : Engineering is about designing and building things, like bridges, robots, or software. Engineers use scientific principles to create solutions to real-world problems. Nanotechnology : This is the science and engineering of very, very small things—so small you can't see them with the naked eye. It deals with manipulating materials at the scale of atoms and molecules, which can lead to amazing new products and technologies, like super-strong materials or better medicines.                         ...
